How to read Life Extended, what informs this edition, and where our work has limits.

01

A reader's journal of healthy aging

Life Extended is an educational publication that helps readers understand public guidance and its practical implications. It does not conduct clinical trials or provide individual medical assessments.

The opening edition focuses on accessible foundations. Cost and effort are part of the discussion because recommendations have to fit real lives.

02

Keep the source close to the claim

This edition draws on public guidance from WHO, NHS, NIH and CDC, professional society guidance, and selected research papers and evidence reviews. Source organizations do not endorse Life Extended. Every guide links the relevant claim to a numbered reference and records its source access date.

A source link allows you to inspect the recommendation, population, study design and context. Study selection is editorial and illustrative: these are narrative guides, not systematic reviews or a complete inventory of all current evidence. Foundational older papers are identified by publication year; a source access date does not make their findings new.

03

Separate outcomes from assumptions

Public guidance is presented as public guidance. A measured change in a biomarker is not automatically a change in lifespan. Findings in animals do not establish the same effect in humans. An association cannot, on its own, establish cause.

The evidence summaries distinguish trial findings from observational associations and include the population and important limitations. Practical tables, diaries and planning frameworks are editorial examples: they have not been tested as complete programs. The comparison page describes practical context and outcomes, rather than an individual effectiveness score.

04

Be clear about who did the work

The opening edition was drafted with AI assistance using the sources linked on each guide. Clinical review is pending. No medical reviewer, scientific advisory board or professional endorsement is claimed.

The dates on these pages identify source access and publication, not completion of clinical review. Use the original guidance and a qualified clinician when making decisions about your own health.

05

Make commercial context visible

This edition includes no sponsored articles, affiliate links or products for sale. If that changes, commercial relationships should be disclosed beside the relevant content.

A dated revision history appears on each guide. The current revision expands the initial overviews into long-form educational guides. Clinical review remains pending; the access and publication dates describe editorial work. The edition is updated manually.
